As a Foot Health Practitioner, I diagnose and treat a number of problems on the foot and lower leg. Firstly, this means carrying out an assessment of the patients foot complaint. A treatment plan is then constructed based upon the patients history and physical assessment findings, articulating and justifying the choice of treatment options and the possible complications that may arise from the treatment option chosen. My aim is provide patients with the best care possible promoting quality of life and independent living.
Having been in a caring role for the last number of years, I then started to study Foot Health and I graduated from The SMEA Institute with a Diploma in Foot Health DipCFHP). The SMAE Institute was established in 1919 and is the oldest and largest private sector training college for foot health in the UK.
Foot hygiene, routine nail care and well fitting footwear is of primary importance for everyone. Undertaking these routine tasks however may be difficult or impossible in some instances and this is where i can help. It is most satisfying to help a patient by relieving their discomfort, improving mobility and managing their foot health.
